South African Advocate Thanda Mngwengwe has been appointed by His Majesty King Mswati III as Anti Corruption Commissioner for a period of five (5) years. Advocate Mngwengwe is the former Head of Special Operations for the now defunct South African Scorpions. The Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs said it was His Majesty's pleasure to appoint Advocate Mngwengwe after the demise of former Commissioner Justice Michael Mtegha in December 2011. He also pointed out that the Government of Swaziland was grateful to the South African Government and the Commonwealth that have supported the recruitment of Advocate Mngwengwe. Advocate Mngwengwe thanked His Majesty King Mswati III for affording him, what he termed, a rare opportunity to serve the dreams and spirations of the Swazi people. He also pledged to work diligently in building partnerships in order to fight corruption effectively. |
